Bre-L - Oblivion (Grimes Cover)

| Keith

Kerri sort of beat me to the punch yesterday posting a Grimes song. I had this alt-rock pleasure planned for a bit now as it's been kind of stuck in my head. I was a fan of the original and the album, Visions, from which it came. This version, from LA alt-pop-rock outfit Bre-L is a fun take with heavy guitar and more aggressive vocals that I think fits the tone of the song well.

If you're curious about that original song, here is the very well done, appropriate and, especially given the lyrical content of the song, slightly off-putting video.

Charlie Puth & Selena Gomez - We Don't Talk Anymore

| Kerri

I kinda hate that if teenage-me heard this song, she'd have been convinced that you should totally keep pining for your ex, and probably tell him so (cringe!) because he's probably pining for you, too (and forget about whatever the reasons are you obviously broke up and don't speak). But. I cannot stop singing along to the easy-cheesy melody and lyrics whenever this gem comes on the radio. Selena Gomez catches me up in this cringe-love conundrum a lot lately.
