R.E.M. & Natalie Merchant - Photograph

| Keith
I found this photograph,
Underneath the broken picture glass.
Tender face of black and white,
Beautiful, a haunting sight.
Looked into an angel's smile,
Captivated all the while.
From the hair and clothes she wore,
I'd place her in between the wars.

How about a little throwback to get us back into the swing of things. R.E.M.'s Automatic for the People, while not my favorite, I prefer their older stuff, it is a terrific album and it's recently been re-released for its 25th anniversary. As part of that release, "Photograph", a song that, as far as I know, is not on the album, showed up in my release radar and, wow, I'm amazed at how well it holds up.

Wesley Fuller - #1 Song

| Keith

When I first heard "#1 Song" by Wesley Fuller, I asked myself, "What is this? A new New Pornographers song?" It's got that super pop throwback sound, and if retro guitar pop is your thing, do yourself a favor and check out their latest album, Inner City Dream. Oh, and this classic rock inspired video.

Brian Fallon - Forget Me Not

| Keith
Stacy, I'd like to take you to a movie
In a world without a death wish
On a night under the fireworks in heaven
Oh but Stacy
Baby, you can take me anywhere
Because I get a lot of low downs
So just put me in the cold ground and visit
Oh, but what if
What if my soul was still trembling?

Let's keep the Americana vibe going, shall we? Brian Fallon has one of my favorite voices and I'm so happy he's keeping things going with his solo work. His new single "Forget Me Not" could have been pulled off just about any Gaslight Anthem album and it's a terrific track for an American holiday. The new album is out early next year and he's got a tour going to support it, so you know I'll be catching him in Austin.
