This new Interpol cover from Day Wave and Hazel English has a style that walks the line between early 80's sophistiwave and early 90's shoegaze. It's like Spandau Ballet meets Lush and is a great, chill take on the original.

Are we too deep into fall for this summery Parisian psychedelic/electronic tune? What's that? Oh yeah, it's never too late. Holy Oysters have an odd origin story (literally about a vision of Holy Oysters) but don't take themselves too seriously. Let this track be a calm, yet funky lead-in to your weekend.

Back in the 80's, I went through a sophisti-phase, where I was really into polished, groovy bands like The Style Council, Ultravox and Spandau Ballet. I'm not sure I'd consider Canadian indie superband Stars to be the exact same thing, but they're pretty close. They've been doing polished, feel-good dance-pop for years and I'm so happy they're still at it. Hopefully, I'll get the chance to see them live again soon, as they're shows are up there in terms of pure fun.
